Nanaimo is glowing this winter, and you’re invited to bask in its brilliance! Luminous Paths: Nanaimo’s 150 & Beyond is transforming our parks and public spaces into a glittering celebration of light, art, and community. It’s the perfect time to plan your visit, soak in the glow, and create memories that’ll shine long after you head home!
Visitors can expect to experience a festival that’s as vibrant as the city – with live performances, interactive booths, kid’s activities, food trucks and the opportunity to hear from members of Nanaimo’s creative community. The festival gives local artisans and cultural partners the chance to shine a light on their craft with artist talks, guided tours and hands-on workshops for visitors.
While the majority of festival activities will focus around Maffeo Sutton Park, art installations and surprise performances can also be experienced throughout other city parks and locations. Take the opportunity to explore the city – grab a warm drink and your camera and head out to find as many as you can.
Ready to light up your winter? Luminous Paths lights up Nanaimo from January 22 to February 17 at Maffeo Sutton Park (though we fully expect you to keep shining long after that!). Don’t miss the spectacular opening event on January 22, from 5–9 PM, and be sure to catch the grand finale celebration on February 17, from 4–8 PM.
